New Freddie Mercury vocals!
Queen is one of the most successful rock bands of all time. This week, the British band is releasing a song that had been lost for over 30 years. The song was recorded at the time when they were making the 1989 studio album The Miracle.
Even though the band has been touring with American Idol winner Adam Lambert as its lead vocalist for the past 10 years, this song was recorded while Mercury was still alive. Thus, it features the late singer’s iconic vocals.
You can now listen to this rediscovered Queen song, titled “Face It Alone,” below.
“Face It Alone” will be featured in an upcoming special edition project dubbed The Miracle Collector’s Edition, which has a scheduled release date of November 18.
Queen released its debut self-titled album, Queen, in 1973, which was promptly followed by Queen II in 1974. Overall, the band released as many as 15 studio albums between the 1970s and the 1990s.
Alas, 1989’s The Miracle holds a very special place in the hearts of fans because the album was recorded after the band broke up so that Mercury could pursue his solo career. As a solo act, Mercury released 1985’s Mr. Bad Guy and 1988’s Barcelona. A year later, Queen got back together and released The Miracle to the excitement of fans.
Mercury unfortunately passed away months after the release of 1991’s Innuendo. The band subsequently released its final studio album, Made in Heaven, in 1995.
The Miracle Collector’s Edition drops November 18 on all music streaming services.
