Lil Nas X is ready to get going on his next album, and he’s already dropping hints about what fans might be able to expect.

The rapper got drawn into a conversation with fans on Twitter earlier this week after they were throwing around jokes about how long it had been since he’d released new music — over 150 days, according to one fan’s calculation.

Another asked when his follow up to his 2021 debut album, MONTERO, would finally be headed our way, to which Lil Nas replied, “most likely summer.”

The line of questioning continued, as people tried to draw out as much information about the upcoming tracks from him as they could.

One question Lil Nas refused to answer was whether there would be any exciting features on the new album. Whether that’s because he’s keeping those cards close to his chest or because the album isn’t far enough along yet to know is anybody’s guess, but considering how feature-heavy MONTERO was, and how Lil Nas’s fame has only grown since then, it seems likely there will be some great artists lending their talent to his songs.

But for specifics, we’ll just have to wait and see — hopefully not too long, if his promise of summer holds true.

What is Lil Nas X's real name?

Lil Nas X's name is Montero Lamar Hill.

Why did Lil Nas X change his name?

Lil Nas X decided to use his internet alias for his stage name rather than his given name.

When did Montero come out?

The album MONTERO was released on September 17, 2021.
