It’s time to break the “Tension.”
Kylie Minogue continues to have a hot girl summer by releasing the follow-up single to the gay hit song “Padam Padam.” The new song, “Tension,” is the title track off her upcoming studio album, which is scheduled to drop on September 22.
In the “Tension” music video, Minogue plays two main versions of herself. On one hand, there is a bubbly, upbeat, and pink-wearing version of herself. Then there’s a more mysterious and evil-looking version wearing all black.
You can watch the full music video for “Tension” below.
The “Tension” music video was directed by Sophie Muller, who also directed the video for “Padam Padam.” In fact, a lot of the same team was used for this new video, with Steven Chivers as director of photography and Annie Sperling serving as production designer also returning after working with Minogue on “Padam Padam.”
As of this writing, “Padam Padam” has already surpassed 16 million views on YouTube and nearly 65 million streams on Spotify. This song is already one of the biggest hits in Minogue’s career.
Though the new album is still a few weeks away from its official release, the tracklist for Tension has already been revealed. The LP includes tracks titled “Hold On To Now,” “Things We Do For Love,” One More Time,” “You Still Get Me High,” “Hands, “Green Light,” “Vegas High,” and “Story.” A bonus version of Tension also includes songs like “Love Train,” “Just Imagine,” and “Somebody To Love.”
We spent all summer long blasting Kylie Minogue on our speakers, and it looks like we’ll keep doing that for the rest of 2023 with the upcoming release of Tension.
