Pop icon Charli XCX just released her new album Brat today, and we can't stop listening!

One track in particular, though, has us wondering who she might be singing about: the track "Girl, so confusing."

The song talks about another woman in pop, saying, "I don't know if you like me/sometimes I think you might hate me/sometimes I think I might hate you," "people say we're alike/they say we've got the same hair," and "You might still wanna see me falling over and failing."

Charli has admitted the song is about another female singer, and now, fans are trying to figure out who.

Charli talked about the song on the Las Culturistas podcast with Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers.

"I haven't quite decided yet if I'm revealing," she said on the podcast. "My thing is, people are gonna guess. I feel like you both probably have an accurate guess."

She explained that she feels there is a lot of artifice in the current mood of women supporting women in music. "I don't think that you become a bad feminist if you maybe don't see eye to eye with every woman. That's just not the nature of human beings. There is competitiveness between us, there is envy, there is camaraderie," she said. "I feel that working in entertainment there is this kind of dance that we all do with each other."

"This happens, but no one is really willing to discuss it," she said.

The number one guess made by fans has been Lorde. Fans and critics have often compared the two artists, both in artistry and looks. One interviewer even famously thought Charli was Lorde when she interviewed her. Charli went along with it.

This fits perfectly with the line "people say we're alike/they say we've got the same hair."

One person even shared what they say is a former Charli XCX Instagram story where she responded to someone asking if she'd ever collab with Lorde, saying it "would be such a meme."

"I want to. We speak about writing a lot but it never seems to happen and I don't know why. I sort of go round and round on it in my head. Like why doesn't this happen?" Charli wrote. "It's actually something I want to ask her about."

However, Lorde and Charli have been seen supporting each other several times, including recently when Lorde posted an Instagram story praising Brat.

"The only album I've ever presaved is out today," she wrote. "Charli just cooked this one different… So much grit, grace & skin in the game. I speak for all of us when I say it's an honour to be moved, changed, and gagged by her work. There is NO ONE like this bitch."

If it's not Lorde, many fans think that the song could be about Marina (formerly known as Marina and the Diamonds).

Marina also shares a similar look with Charli, and the line "you're all about writing poems" could be a reference to Marina's recent poetry book EAT THE WORLD, released this year.

Still other fans think that the track could be aimed at Rina Sawayama, another dark-haired pop singer, who's most recent album was titled Hold the Girl, which could be the "girl," referenced in the title.

Sawayama famously has beef with The 1975's Matty Healy, calling him out for both his racism and his owning the masters to her music. Charli is engaged to The 1975's drummer and producer George Daniel.

Whoever the song is about, Brat is one of the best albums of the year!
