After over a year of radio silence, Ariana Grande has remembered she's a pop star and is gearing up for a brand new collab with The Weeknd.
It's been years since the gay icon released her last album positions, and fourteen months since she appeared in Netflix's hit film Don't Look Up where she blessed fans with the song, "Just Look Up". That was the last fans have heard from Grande, and Arianators are absolutely ravenous.
Well, we're about to be fed!
Yesterday, Grande announced her resurrection with a remix to "Die For You", a song off of The Weeknd's 2016 album Starboy.
The song will be the fourth track the two have collaborated on, following "Love Me Harder", "off the table", and their last #1 hit song of 2021, "Save Your Tears". It's unclear why the two chose this particular seven-year-old track, but we can't wait to hear Grande's spin on it.
A video of Grande recording and producing the song herself has also gone viral. According to the caption, she "wrote and recorded a verse for my friend after a 14-hour day on set. this certain exception had to be made."
She is referring to her long days on the set of the upcoming adaption of the Broadway musical, Wicked. She's starring in the film(s) as Glinda opposite Cynthia Erivo's Elphaba. Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh, Bowen Yang, and Jeff Goldblum are also set to star. We can't wait to see Grande perform "Popular" and "For Good".
In the video, you can see Ariana using Pro Tools to record harmonies. "You know what I'm thinking, see it in your eyes," she sings.
The "Die For You" remix drops tonight at 9 pm PT, 12 pm ET, on all streaming platforms.
When did Ariana Grande get married?
