Adam Lambert is back, baby!
The runner-up of American Idol season eight has come a long way between releasing his first studio album, 2009’s For Your Entertainment, and touring as a vocalist with the legendary band Queen. Over the years, Lambert also released albums like 2012’s Trespassing, 2015’s The Original High, and 2020’s Velvet.
Now, the singer has released a full album of covers, titled High Drama, putting his own spin on fan-favorite songs like “Holding Out for a Hero,” “Ordinary World,” “Chandelier,” “Getting Older,” and “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me.”
Lambert released High Drama this Friday, November 24.
From Bonnie Tyler to Billie Eilish to Kings of Leon to Lana Del Rey, the covers featured on High Drama reach a wide span of music genres. What makes this project so entertaining and fascinating is how Lambert’s powerhouse vocals lend themselves to all of these songs while also putting the singer’s own spin on these electrifying covers.
Lambert is no stranger to covering other songs, but this album truly encapsulates all of his skills as a vocalist and as one of the most talented and influential LGBTQ+ entertainers of our time.
Adam Lambert’s High Drama is now available on all music streaming platforms.
