No stranger danger here.
Written and directed by Andrew Haigh (Looking, Weekend), we finally have the first-look image of Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott starring in the upcoming film All of Us Strangers (formerly titled Strangers).
Based on Taichi Yamada’s novel Strangers, this movie features a chance encounter between Harry (played by Mescal) and Adam (played by Scott). This leads them to visit Adam’s childhood home, where they find his late parents (played by Claire Foy and Jamie Bell) looking exactly how they did 30 years ago.
While it hasn’t been officially confirmed that Mescal and Scott are playing lovers in the film, this very horny first-look image absolutely adds fuel to the speculation that these characters will be linked romantically.
20th Century
Scott made a huge splash playing the character of “hot priest” on Fleabag. Other notable credits include Spectre, His Dark Materials, and 1917. Besides gaining mainstream popularity with viewers, Scott’s work has also received a lot of critical acclaim. Over the years, he’s been nominated for Emmy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and Screen Actors Guild Awards, to name a few.
In 2020, Mescal landed the breakout role of Connell Waldron on the British miniseries Normal People, which propelled his career to new heights. Since then, Mescal has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor with his performance in Aftersun. He was also cast as the lead role in the upcoming Gladiator 2 sequel, and is attached to the queer romance film The History of Sound alongside Josh O’Connor.
Besides being two incredibly attractive men, Scott and Mescal are brilliant actors, and we can’t wait to see what they pull off in All of Us Strangers!
All of Us Strangers opens December 22, 2023 in theaters.
