Megan Thee Stallion Might Be Joining This New Adam Sandler Movie
Megan Thee Stallion might be eyeing a new acting role!
Deadline reports that the rapper is in talks to join an upcoming movie from Benny and Josh Safdie, set in the world of sports memorabilia. Details about the movie are largely under wraps, but we do know it’s currently set up at Netflix with Adam Sandler in a starring role.
“They’ve been writing this movie we’re supposed to do together for a couple years,” Sandler recently told The Hollywood Reporter of the Safdie brothers. “They just write hundreds and hundreds of pages. I’ll read them and I’ll say, ‘I like the part when this…’ And they’ll be like, ‘Oh, that’s not in it anymore. We did a whole other thing. We’re going to send you a new draft.’”
According to Sandler, who previously worked with the brothers on Uncut Gems, the as-of-yet-untitled script had a first draft that clocked in at a whopping 340 pages — around three times the length of a normal film script.
“It was insane and it was great,” he claimed.
However, some Megan fans have questioned the timing of the news, as disturbing accusations against one of the Safdie brothers’ collaborators, producer Sebastian Bear-McClard, were made public just yesterday.
The accusations of sexual misconduct against Bear-McClard, who may be better known as the estranged husband of Emily Ratajkowski, included a scenario that allegedly took place on set, with both Safdie brothers present.
“The Elara team were made aware of Sebastian McClard’s behavior in July 2022,” a spokesperson for the brothers told Variety, in reference to the production company the three had formed. “They took immediate action and terminated him.”
Whether this may have an impact on Megan’s potential involvement in this new film remains to be seen, as she has not commented publicly on either matter as of yet.
Megan's 2019 song "Big Ole Freak" is what pushed her into the mainstream.
Megan's real name is Megan Jovon Ruth Pete.
Megan was born on February 15, 1995.
