Jonathan Bailey Spotted Filming Wicked With Ariana Grande
We've finally got our first look at Fiyero himself.
Wicked fans have a new treat to tide them over as we all continue the long wait for the first part of the highly anticipated musical film — a first look at Fiyero himself.
Bridgerton’s Jonathan Bailey was reportedly spotted filming scenes alongside Ariana Grande (Glinda) earlier this month, in photos that have just surfaced online.

Speculation based on the outfits is that the two were shooting the engagement scene between Fiyero and Glinda that takes place early in the second act of the musical, although details aren’t confirmed.
Filming has been taking place in Buckinghamshire, England, and photos of Grande, Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba), and Michelle Yeoh (Madame Morrible) have already made their way to the internet in recent weeks.

The film is an adaptation of the popular Broadway musical based on the book of the same name by Gregory Maguire, which is a reimagined prequel to the Wizard of Oz centered around the two witches, Glinda and Elphaba (aka the Wicked Witch of the West).
Wicked suggests all is not as it seems in Oz, and that Elphaba was never as wicked as the well-known children’s tale made her out to be, but was rather turned into a scapegoat by a society that did not care to understand her.
The musical opened on Broadway in 2003, with roles originated by Kristin Chenoweth (Glinda) and Idina Menzel (Elphaba), and became the fourth-longest running show in Broadway history this year.
The film, written by Winnie Holzman and directed by Jon M. Chu, went through a length development process before finally making headway last year. It was also announced that it will be split into two parts, with the first film expected to be released on November 27, 2024, and the second sometime in December 2025.
Fiyero will be played by Jonathan Bailey.
Fiyero is the primary love interest of both Glinda and Elphaba in Wicked.
