Shannon Pufahl’s 2019 novel On Swift Horses is being turned into a movie directed by Daniel Minahan.
In the book, On Swift Horses follows the story of couple Muriel and Lee starting a new life after returning from the Korean War. Alas, their new life is interrupted by the arrival of Lee’s younger brother, Julius, who’s described as a gambler with a secret. It doesn’t take long for a love triangle to be formed, which subsequently creates chaos and drama for everyone involved. The main stars in the film are Jacob Elordi, Diego Calva, and Daisy Edgar-Jones.
Recently, Calva shared his thoughts on Elordi during an interview with Variety. “It was so cool to work with him. He’s obsessed with photography, he’s obsessed with old plays,” the Mexican actor explained. “He loves Tennessee Williams, he loves Chekhov. He’s not the guy you maybe think he is. He’s such a cool actor. He’s just amazing.”
Calva then teased what viewers can expect from On Swift Horses: “I don’t know if I can say this, but we are going to have pretty hot scenes in this movie… You have to wait, but I think it will be a pretty cool movie.”
Calva has broken out as an actor in Hollywood for appearing on Narcos: Mexico and in the latest Damien Chazelle film Babylon. He is also set to appear in 2023’s Bonded as the character of Carlitos.
Best known for his roles on Euphoria and The Kissing Booth, Elordi is experiencing a career high with several upcoming projects coming down the pipeline. To name a few, the actor is set to play Elvis Presley in a new Priscilla biopic, Bobby in He Went That Way, and Dorrigo Evans in The Narrow Road to the Deep North. Elordi is also slated to appear in Saltburn and Parallel in the near future.
Needless to say, we can’t wait to see which “pretty hot scenes” Calva and Elordi are going to have in On Swift Horses!
