Hulu is celebrating Pride month with a new must-see Sapphic horror film.

Hulu is celebrating Pride Month in a spooky way this year!

The streaming platform just dropped the trailer for their new queer horror movie Jagged Mind that’s being released just in time for Pride.

The feature film comes from 20th Century Studio and is part of Hulu’s “Pride Never Stops'' campaign, which amplifies LGBTQ+ voices. It’s a psychological horror movie about a woman named Billie who is plagued by blackouts and strange visions. She soon realizes she’s stuck in a series of time loops that may be connected to her mysterious new girlfriend Alex.

The trailer shows the main characters falling in love, but things get rocky when Billie keeps seeing herself die during blackouts and Alex seems to use this vulnerability to take more and more control over Billie’s life. Not only does the trailer make the movie look disturbing, but the character's queerness seems to be front and center because we also get shots of them kissing, dating, and having sex.

Jagged Mind is Kelley Kali’s feature film directorial debut and was written by Allyson Morgan. Maisie Richardson-Sellers (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) stars as Billie alongside Shannon Woodward (Westworld) who plays her mysterious girlfriend Alex.

Kali was tapped to direct Jagged Mind based on her horror short First Date that was part of the first season of 20th Century Studio’s Bite Sized Halloween on Hulu. Later this year, the horror movie Appendage will premiere on Hulu after also being a part of the Bite Sized Halloween slate of shorts.

Jagged Mind will have its world premiere at the American Black Film Festival in Miami Beach on June 14, and will debut on Hulu on June 15 and Disney+ internationally at a later date.

We love seeing LGBTQ+ representation in horror and who doesn’t want want the pants scared off of them — or someone else! — during Pride?!
