He didn't trust the film's straight director to do the scenes justice.

Guy Branum wants to reassure moviegoers that the gay sex scenes in Bros are still hot, despite being handled by a straight male director.

The comedian, who served as a co-producer on the film in addition to stepping in for a role, told Page Six that he showed up to set every day that director Nicholas Stoller was shooting the sex scenes in order to keep tabs on things.

“Our director is straight and I was like, ‘Someone needs to tell you [if it’s] hot or not,’” he said. “I think a straight woman could do it. I think there’s some straight men who could do it, but I need to double check Nicholas Stoller’s work.”

Bros had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month, and will soon be hitting theaters. Although the rom com was directed by a straight man, it was co-written by Billy Eichner and stars a number of gay actors and straight women that gay guys love.

That likely helped add to the authenticity of the film, which Branum praised in regards to a scene that took place in a gay club, which anyone who has been to one understands tends to have a very specific vibe, different from clubs aimed at the general public.

“I do love that they made a gay club seem and feel like a real gay club,” he said. “I thought it was very helpful that there was 500 writhing men there the whole time.”

Yep, that’s the vibe alright!

Bros hits theaters September 30.
