This nonbinary baddie is getting superpowers? Say less.

We are suddenly very hyped for Deadpool 3. Why? Because today it was announced that nonbinary actor Emma Corrin has been cast in the third installment of the irreverent super(anti)hero series.

To say it’s a departure from her recent gig as the Princess Diana on Netflix’s prestige drama The Crown is an understatement. But we love versatility!

While no news has dropped yet as to exactly who the actor will be portraying, the rumor according to Deadline is that Corrin will be playing the film’s villain. They will be starring opposite Ryan Reynolds, who reprises his role as the merc with a mouth, and Hugh Jackman, who will once again don the adamantium claws of Wolverine.

The only person who might be even more excited about this casting than PRIDE is Reynolds himself, who took to Twitter to celebrate Corrin joining the franchise. “New addition to the family! The Deadpool family, for clarity. Which is just like a real family except with less swearing… Welcome, Emma Corrin!” he wrote, ending the caption with crossed swords and a heart emoji. Not to be conspiratorial, but that sure looks like their characters will be clashing. We can’t wait.

It’s also worth noting that the comics recently introduced a nonbinary love interest for Wade Wilson (aka Deadpool), Valentine Vuong. Just sayin’.

Deadpool 3 is set to be helmed by director Shawn Levy, who Reynolds previously worked with on both Free Guy and The Adam Project. Screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who wrote both of the previous Deadpool films, will be back with their transgressive wit which made the first two entries in the MCU’s first R-rated films such naughty fun.

While this is certainly exciting news, it’s not the only casting announcement involving Corrin to drop recently. They also announced that they will be starring in a new adaptation of the classic gothic horror film Nosferatu being directed by Robert Eggers (The Witch, The Lighthouse, The Northman) and will be starring alongside Lily Rose-Depp, Nicholas Hoult, and Bill Skarsgard.

In other words, it’s a great time to be a Corrin stan.
