Lesbian yearning meets serial killer shenanigans in this ‘Bloody Axe Wound’ clip …

What happens when a slasher killer falls in sapphic love?

rachiepants

If there is one force greater than the slasher killer’s need to slice and dice it just might be lesbian yearning. I mean, is there anything more powerful than a lesbian — make that a teen lesbian's ability to long? Well, that is the question at the heart of Bloody Axe Wound, a delightful new coming-of-age horror comedy with a lesbian twist from Matthew John Lawrence, who directed 2020's underground hit Uncle Peckerhead (which by the way is also a ton of fun and gay!).

The film follows Abbie (Sari Arambulo) a young, aspiring slasher killer keen to follow in her father’s bloody footsteps. You see, her father Roger Bladecut (Billy Burke) not only runs a small town V/H/S store but one that sells the tapes of both his and another slasher killer’s deadly exploits. However, when a surprise health crisis strikes Roger, Abbie has to pick up her father’s mantle (and his axe) and begin picking off local teens. That is until she meets one of her would-be victims, Sam (Molly Brown) a local, queer punk rock misfit and finds herself drawn inexorably to her. Cue the lesbian serial killer drama!

In the exclusive clip above, Abbie heads out for a night of slasher killing, only to find herself mesmerized by Sam. For any baby queers out there who remember the intensity of your first crush, you know exactly what her face looks like under her killer mask. Aww, young love.

‘Bloody Axe Wound’ is in select theaters today. Watch the trailer below.
