Netflix has dished up the deliciously wicked trailer for BEEF, a new queer-inclusive dark comedy series from A24.

The series stars Ali Wong and Steven Yeun as characters whose lives come crashing (literally) into one another, and it changes everything for the two of them. It sounds a bit like a meet-cute, although this is anything but; instead, it’s something far darker and hilarious

According to the official synopsis, BEEF “follows the aftermath of a road rage incident between two strangers. Danny Cho (Yeun), a failing contractor with a chip on his shoulder, goes head-to-head with Amy Lau (Ali), a self-made entrepreneur with a picturesque life. The increasing stakes of their feud unravel their lives and relationships in this darkly comedic and deeply moving series.”

In the trailer, we meet Danny and Amy, both of whom are teetering on the edge of barely suppressed rage. For Danny it’s a financial crisis and Amy is disillusioned (and exhausted) with her outwardly perfect life. Regardless of the motivations, they’re both primed for an explosion when their paths cross. It’s a run-of-the-mill road rage moment, one we’ve all experienced: angry but ultimately one that’s easily brushed off and put in the rearview mirror. But for Amy and Danny, peace was never an option, and they just can’t let it go.

Instead, they both lean in and ultimately find in one another a place to finally channel their anger over their frustration about their own lives into one another. Unable to stop, their rivalry and taste for revenge only grows — as do the stakes and consequences of their vendetta. This won’t end well, and we can’t wait to see it — because here’s the thing, the series is also very, very funny.

BEEF also stars Joseph Lee (George), Young Mazino (Paul), David Choe (Isaac), Patti Yasutake (Fumi), Maria Bello (Jordan Forster), Ashley Park (Naomi), Justin H. Min (Edwin), Mia Serafino (Mia), Remy Holt (June), Andrew Santino (Michael), and Rek Lee (Bobby).

BEEF debuts globally April 6 on Netflix. Watch the trailer below.
