The Barbie Character Posters & Trailer Are Here And They're So Gay!
UPDATE: The trailer for Barbie has arrived and it's fully brightly colored Barbies — and Kens who are so eager to "beach each other off"
Along with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling playing Barbie and Ken, respectively, Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Ncuti Gatwa, and Scott Evans are playing variations on Ken, while the likes of Dua Lipa, Emma Mackey, Issa Rae, Alexandra Shipp, Kate McKinnon, Hari Nef, and more star as various Barbies.

In the poster reveals, we see that the characters follow the Barbie trope of each being defined by their profession. For instance, Rae is President Barbie (which feels correct) and Dua Lipa is Mermaid Barbie (again, correct). However, the Kens are, well, just Kens.
The poster also gives audiences their first sneak peek at Will Ferrell as a Mattel CEO, Hellen Mirren as the narrator, and Michael Cera as Ken’s ginger-haired friend Allan.
While the plot remains very much under wraps, rumor has it the film follows Robbie and Gosling as they stumble into the real world.
The film generated major buzz last year when Gosling and Robbie were spotted filming a rollerblading scene decked out in full neon. It was glorious, but according to Gerwig, the actors were not thrilled by being spotted.
“I can’t tell you how mortified we were, by the way,” Robbie told Jimmy Fallon about the photos going viral. “We look like we’re laughing and having fun, but we’re dying on the inside. Dying. I was like, this is the most humiliating moment of my life.”
Thankfully the reaction was largely one of total delight and hype for the movie that is finally headed to theaters July 21.
