A week after throwing some serious shade at former co-star Lea Michele, Chris Colfer is expressing interest in writing about his time on Glee — eventually.

Although he has continued to do a little bit of acting in the years following Glee’s finale, Colfer has largely pivoted to writing. Lately, he’s been doing the press rounds to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his book series, The Land of Stories, and the special edition of The Wishing Spell that was just released to commemorate it.

Speaking with KTLA 5 Morning News, the conversation eventually turned back to Glee, and whether the actor would ever consider penning a book regarding the six seasons he spent on the show as Kurt Hummel.

“I think there is a lot about my time on Glee that I would love to discuss in detail,” Colfer said. “Not just about the drama everyone knows about but also my time on the show and what it was like to be an out teenager in this industry, back then.”

At least part of the drama in question undoubtedly involves Michele, who gained a negative reputation in the years following the series’ conclusion after her former cast mates started dishing on her bad behavior.

Colfer himself recently said he would not be going to support his former co-star in Funny Girl on Broadway, saying he could simply “be triggered at home” instead.

But the actor potentially wanting to focus on something other than the drama should he eventually sit down to talk about the experience from his perspective makes sense, especially considering how well-tread it all is at this point — and with a docuseries headed to Discovery+ next year.

Still, don’t expect Colfer’s book any time soon; he has other priorities in his life.

“I’ve had many opportunities to do it and I just feel like my books are doing so well and I’m making so many families happy right now,” he explained. “So, why go back and relive some painful memories?”
