Watch Mean Girls Star Jonathan Bennett Get A Mammogram
It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the actor advises fans to get screened.
This past Wednesday, Mean Girls star Jonathan Bennett wore pink, but not for the usual reason. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the out actor and influencer took himself to the doctor to get a preventive mammogram screening.
Wearing a pink polo, the 41-year-old filmed himself getting the breast exam at Shin Imaging Center in Los Angeles, and filmed the experience so his social media followers could tag along.
“October is #breastcancerawarenessmonth and I’m showing you what getting a mammogram looks like for me,” Bennett wrote to his 941,000 followers on Instagram. “After my husband had a scare a few years ago and with cancer running in both of our families, screenings are important to us.”
We get a glimpse of Bennett putting his pecs into the x-ray machine in a few different positions, then he gives a smile and a thumbs up to the camera. He concludes the video with a celebratory cupcake from Wicked Good Cupcakes. Bennett teamed up with them to raise money for Ellie Fund, a provider of “essential services for breast cancer patients. For each limited-edition Vanilla Sprinkle cupcake jar sold this month, Wicked Good Cupcakes will donate $1 to the Ellie Fund.”
The comments are overwhelmingly supportive. “Amazing!” wrote Melissa Joan Hart, star of Sabrina the Teenage Witch. “Thanks for posting this for us ladies who don’t like to go topless on Insta and the millions that have been told it’s painful. Also ..... CUPCAKES! Real Housewives star Kandi Burruss also chimed into the conversation. “That’s awesome! I’ve never seen a male breast exam.” The best comment goes to user winfortunata though, who wrote “Super informative. Thanks! But…Can they tell when it’s raining?”
We will await Bennett’s answer with bated breath.
