Amazon Prime's new series Swarm has lit social media ablaze and with nude scenes like Rory Culkin's it's easy to see why.
Created by Janine Nabers and Atlanta's Donald Glover, the show follows a character named Dre (Dominique Fishback), whose obsession with a fictional pop star named Ni'Jah takes a dark turn and her life quickly spirals out of control.
In episode one, Dre hooks up with a random guy after a messy night out and wakes up and his bed. Rory Culkin awaits her and promptly brings her a clear bowl of strawberries. As he's naked, we get a full-on shot of Culkin's flaccid penis pressed against the bowl of fruit.
Scandalous.
The moment quickly went viral on social media.
Well according to Nabers, the moment was based on a real-life story from Glover.
"Donald told this very funny story about a girl who he really liked, and how after they hooked [up], he was standing there with a bowl of cherries, just being like, 'Hey,'" Nabers told Insider. "She was like, so not into it, because it's so weird to hook up with a guy that you barely know and then wake up with him holding a bowl of cherries."
Incredible. And it's certainly getting the desired reaction on social media.
The entire first season of Swarm is available to stream now on Amazon Prime Video.
Is Swarm based off a true story?
It's not a true story but it is based off reality, according to creator Jessica Nabors. “We did research for months to basically find events within a 2 1/2 year period that we could put our main character into. So it's really not a work of fiction. We've taken real internet rumors, real murders and combined them in the narrative of our main character, Dre. Not much of it is fabricated.”
How many episodes is Swarm?
Season 1 of Swarm consists of seven episodes.
