Now sissy that architecture!
On Tuesday, May 16, Architectural Digest shared a full profile of RuPaul’s home in Beverly Hills. The property, originally built in the 1980s, was completely reimagined by designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard.
“We’ve always loved Martyn’s aesthetic, so we trusted him,” RuPaul told the publication. “I said, ‘Go for it. I can go as far as your imagination will take us.’”
The mansion has a mostly black-and-white aesthetic, but it also features a few colorful rooms. Overall, RuPaul’s home is all about combining classical looks with modern accents.
Several rooms are shown in this AD video of RuPaul’s home. For instance, we see the property’s “disco room” with pictures of Billie Holiday, Grace Jones, Eartha Kitt, and Dorothy Dandridge hanging on the wall. The kitchen, which follows the home’s black-and-white aesthetic, has golden finishes and floral accents.
There’s also a dramatic stairway that gives very Mommie Dearest vibes, an office space with orange walls, and separate closets for RuPaul’s day-to-day clothes and drag costumes.
Mama Ru’s home is absolutely fabulous!
