Oftentimes celebrity divorces take a very, very long time. Some even last longer than the marriage itself. They are painful and expensive. Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef seem to be bucking that trend as they have reportedly reached a divorce settlement just a month after they shocked fans by announcing they were separating.
According to TMZ the former couple filed and uncontested written agreement. While the document doesn't disclose any details of the dissolution, it will mean that the two are officially single once it is signed by the judge.
In July the couple shared that they were going their separate ways in a joint statement via Instagram with a message in both English and Spanish.
“For some time, we have considered transforming our relationship,” the statement began, “and it is after careful consideration that we have decided to end our marriage with love, respect, and dignity for our children and honoring what we have experienced as a couple all these wonderful years.”
The couple share two children: Lucia, 4, and Renn, 3 along with Martin’s 14-year-old twin sons Matteo and Valentino. In the statement, they highlighted that their children were their top priority through the divorce.
“Our greatest desire now is to continue having a healthy family dynamic, and a relationship centered on peace and friendship to continue the joint upbringing of our children, preserving the respect and love we have for each other.”
An amicable divorce is certainly one way to do just that.
