The Hairspray star came out back in 2020.
Nikki Blonsky is officially engaged!
The actress, best known for her iconic role in Hairpsray, shared the news via Instagram last week.
“I’ve played plenty of characters in love in my life and it has been a blessing, but the greatest blessing in life is real love, true love and I am honored to finally feel unconditional love, and a love that is pure,” she wrote.
Blonsky officially announced her relationship with Hailey Jo Jenson (they/them) during Pride month this year while promoting Jenson’s Etsy shop, although it’s unclear how long the two have been together.
For their part, Jenson shared their engagement photos and wrote, “Love is a state of Being. This is the moment, the reality and lifetime that I want to exist in. The one where I can experience life, while loving you.”
Back in summer of 2020, Blonsky came out boldly on social media by way of a TikTok in which she danced to Diana Ross. She also shared that she had a girlfriend in the past, and the relationship had ended earlier that year.
@therealnikkiblonsky Hi, it’s Nikki Blonsky from the movie I’m Gay! #pride #imcomingout #hairspray
Clearly, it all worked out for the best, paving the way for the actress to find a new love and start the long march down the wedding aisle with Jenson.
“I have the honor, privilege and greatest joy of calling this incredible person my fiancé!” she wrote. “I am so incredibly in love with you @theyleyjo and my love for you is endless, you mean everything to me! Here’s to FOREVER my love!!!”
