Miguel Bernardeau is back on our Netflix screens!

1899 is a multilingual series featuring European migrants from many different countries and backgrounds. As such, the characters speak various languages over the course of the season. Bernardeau plays Ángel on 1899, who is accompanied by a faux priest named Ramiro (played by José Pimentão). Along with the other characters, Ángel and Ramiro are traveling from London to New York City on a steamship. Little do the others know that these two men have a gay relationship going on.

Bernardeau first became a global superstar for his performance as Guzmán on Élite. Over the course of four seasons, viewers developed a love/hate relationship with Guzmán for often being mean-spirited but also having a very human side to him. The actor decided to leave Élite after season four and went to appear in other shows like Caronte and Todo lo otro in the meantime.

As of this writing, Bernardeau is set to appear on The Last One for Disney+ and Zorro for Amazon Prime Video, but both of those projects are still in production.
