Is love in the air for these queer stars or were the former Disney Channel alums playing a prank?

Is love in the air?

A kiss between two former Disney Channel stars has fans on social media hoping the queer actors are end game.

Trans actress Josie Totah and bisexual actor Karan Brar made headlines this week when the former Jessie costars posted a TikTok video showing them making out.

In the cute and spicy video, Brar comes up behind Totah and wraps his arms around her waist before she leans back to kiss him. Fans instantly started swooning, hoping that the former child actors were dating.

But after the video went viral online, Totah posted a follow-up TikTok, where she was laughing and claiming, “It was a joke.”

The 23-year-old actress came out as trans back in 2018, and Brar came out as bisexual in a personal essay published in 2023, where he opened up about his sexuality and struggles with mental health.

In her second video, Totah wrote that despite fans clamoring for it to be true, the pair are besties and nothing more. ”We are two platonic best friends who danced a little too close to the sun,” she captioned the TikTok video.

Still, fans weren’t convinced, with people in her comment section writing that “I don’t kiss platonic friends like that” and “Does Karan know that.” While others were disappointed to learn the truth, “Well you can’t be joking like that cause now I’m disappointed,” someone commented.

Brar backed her up, writing in his Instagram Stories that the whole thing “was a joke” and said he "didn't mean to gaslight" the internet, People reports.

Brar played series regular Ravi on Jessie, while Totah joined the cast in 2013 as Stuart Wooten, who had a crush on main character Zuri.

The two may have dashed all of our queer kid dreams, but knowing they’re BFFs is warming our hearts!
