Written by the legendary Tina Fey, Mean Girls was a breakout vehicle for several actors who starred in it. Namely, stars like Lindsay Lohan (Cady), Rachel McAdams (Regina George), Amanda Seyfried (Karen), Lacey Chabert (Gretchen Wieners), Lizzy Caplan (Janis), Daniel Franzese (Damien), Rajiv Surendra (Kevin), and Jonathan Bennett (Aaron Samuels) became household names since the 2004 comedy film was released 19 years ago.

Bennett has recently been crowned the Gay King of Christmas after starring in several landmark LGBTQ+ holiday movies for the Hallmark Channel like The Christmas House and The Holiday Sitter. As of 2023, he is once again starring in a new gay movie for the network, Christmas on Cherry Lane, alongside Vincent Rodriguez III.

After Bennett came out as gay over the years, LGBTQ+ fans of Mean Girls became even more obsessed with keeping up with the actor, who has always embraced his Aaron Samuels legacy. In fact, he has regularly celebrated “Mean Girls Day” along with the fans – a date inspired by the iconic scene where Cady says, “On October 3rd, he asked me what day it was.” She then tells Aaron Samuels, “It’s October 3rd.”
