Jonah Hill has been accused by his ex-girlfriend Sarah Brady of being “emotionally abusive” during their relationship.
Between Friday, July 7 and Saturday, July 8, Brady took to Instagram stories and shared a series of alleged text message conversations that she had with the actor during their time together. “This is a warning to all girls,” she wrote while posting the screenshots. “If your partner is talking to you like this, make an exit plan. Call me if you need an ear.”
In the several screenshots of alleged text exchanges shared between them, Hill is seen listing a series of things that he wouldn’t accept from Brady as a partner. The list included “surfing with men, boundaryless inappropriate friendships with men, modeling, posting pictures in a bathing suit, posting sexual pictures, and having friendships with women who are in unstable places.”
It was also brought up that they had been seeing a couples therapist once a week for a period of four months. The screenshots show the actor complaining about Brady’s therapist for thinking he “sucks,” claiming instead that he is “literally the best boyfriend on earth.”
Even though Brady is a surfer, there are several texts where Hill complains about how much time she spends surfing and the people she surfs with. “If you want marriage and family, you can’t use the 25 card. Step up and cut sh*t,” one text message read. “These people don’t get your time or your kindness at the sacrifice of mine.” Brady provided further context via the Instagram story, writing: “By ‘these people he meant any friend of mine that he hadn’t personally approved of.”
Brady wrote in one of her last Instagram stories, “Someone being an emotionally abusive partner doesn’t mean they’re a terrible person (often stems from their own trauma). And at the same time, it doesn’t mean it’s ok.”
Best known for movies like Superbad, 21 Jump Street, and The Wolf of Wall Street, Hill has yet to issue any official response or statement in reaction to Brady’s posts.
