On a recent episode of the We’re Having Gay Sex podcast, Jojo Siwa opened up about her sex life and what it’s like to navigate the dating world as a former child star.
The 19-year-old Dance Moms alum came out as gay in 2021 and has since been romantically linked to Kylie Prew, Katie Mills and TikToker Avery Cyrus.
On the podcast, she talked about the difficulties she faced trying to hook up because of security issues related to her celebrity status.
“I've only had sex in the privacy in my own room…or my own hotel room," Siwa admitted. "I don't know really what normal teenagers do, but I'm assuming—a bathroom stall—whatever. But because of who I am, I can't do that."
The former Nickelodeon and Disney Channel star also talked about how being a celebrity has brought its own unique set of challenges that have made things hard for both her and the people she’s dating.
"It's wacky," she said. "It's weird, it's confusing, it's hard for me, it's hard for the person I'm dating or talking to, because I can't do things. How most people can go on a dinner date, I can't go on a dinner date, normally. I can, but I have to call and say ‘I'm JoJo Siwa, can I have a private table in a private room?' and it's great."
Siwa, who was on her first television show when she was 9 years old, also got candid about some of the things she missed out on by growing up in the public eye.
She was homeschooled and graduated early so she didn't get to have a lot of the normal teen dating experiences. "I'm very behind in the world of love,” She admitted on the podcast. “Because most people go to a freshman dance, and they go with a date, and then they go to homecoming with a different date. Then they go to prom 14 times, and then they go to prom at the other school, and then they have a summer fling and then they have their hookup in the car in the school parking lot."
But she hasn’t missed out when it comes to embarrassing sex stories, admitting that she accidentally butt dialed her dad while having sex. After spending the night with someone she recalls getting a rude awakening from her dad, "Cut to the next day and my dad comes up to me and goes, 'So you guys had fun last night. Last night you called me.'" Oops!
Embarrassment aside, it’s great to see Siwa come into her own and feel comfortable talking about her sexuality!
