Brooke Shields & Jenna Bush Hagar admit they would 'leave' their husbands for Brandi Carlile

Lesbian singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile doesn’t just have Sapphics crushing on her; straight women are obsessed, too!

On an episode of Today, host Jenna Bush Hagar and guest co-host and actress Brooke Shields discovered they both have a thing for the 43-year-old “Highwomen” singer.

The two women bonded over having the same taste in women after Bush Hagar admitted that she became “obsessed” with Carlile when she announced her plans to create a new album with legend Elton John, Decider reports.

“I’m obsessed with both of them, but I think we both would leave our husbands for her,” Shields revealed.

The co-hosts both admitted they told their husbands they would leave them to shoot their shot with Carlile. “He’s like, ‘Wait, wait. Do I have to worry?'” Shields said of her husband Chris Henchy, who she married back in 2001, just a year before Carlile came out as a lesbian.

“We have the same type in women!” Bush Hager said before Shields laughed and agreed with her, “Yeah, we do. We have the same taste.”

Bush Hagar, who isn’t a Republican, despite coming from a famously conservative dynasty, said that she once almost had her own meet-cute with the 11-time Grammy winner, but fate intervened.

“I saw her in Madison Square Garden and I was texting her PR person and then I got in the taxi and I went home,” she told Shields. “And on the way home she’s like, ‘Brandi wants you to come backstage,’ and I was like aw, I’m already on my way home because maybe that – she’s married, but in my mind I’m like, ‘That could have been the moment!’”

Hagar-Bush continued, “I mean I’m married too, we’re both married, we’re all married! Why is she such a dream?”

Shields' answer to that question: Carlile’s “beautiful feminine, masculine energy.”
