Controversial make-up mogul Jeffree Star has shared some unsavory opinions about nonbinary people that are angering fans.

The 37-year-old spent the last few weeks teasing his ‘NFL boyfriend’ all for him to be promoting an upcoming episode of a podcast with NFL star Taylor Lewan. The things people do for attention.

On the actual podcast, Lewan and Star went on an ugly rant about gender identity.

“I’m not into all the other bullsh*t,” Star said about trans and nonbinary people who use pronouns outside of he/him and she/her. “The ‘they’ and ‘them’ and all that extra sh*t we added during the pandemic ‘cos everyone was so bored in their f*cking houses and started to make up more sh*t.”

Star then bragged about being popular among conservatives. “That’s why the conservatives like me, because I’m just real,” he said, adding, “You’re not ‘they’ and ‘them’, you’re trans, you’re male or you’re female. People get so mad when I say that.”

Star continued, “How are you a ‘they’? What the fuck does that mean?

“It’s stupid is what it is. But you need someone like me, who looks like me, to say it." Star apparently feels like a shield for conservatives. "Because if you say it, it turns into: ‘You’re homophobic, you hate trans people, you hate gays.’”

Lewan then called Star the “perfect vessel” for the message of “there are no ‘theys’ and ‘thems’”.

Star and Lewan are, of course, wrong. Nonbinary people have always existed in cultures around the world. The term nonbinary dates back to the '90s and as PinkNews points out, Australian people have been able to select ‘X’ as their passport sex marker since 2003.

LGBTQ+ fans are deeply disappointed in Star, who identifies as gay. “I can’t believe I ever gave him money and trusted his opinion on make-up," one fan tweeted, "All for him to say that my existence is stupid.”
