Jamie Lee Curtis just paid sweet tribute to her daughter, Ruby, after winning her first Academy Award over the weekend.

The actress had a video call with TODAY show hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie on Tuesday to discuss her best supporting actress win for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once.

As Curtis held up her award statue, Guthrie asked if she had “named her” yet.

“In support of my daughter, Ruby, I’m having them be a ‘they/them,’” she said. “I’m just going to call them ‘them.’ ‘They/them.’ And they are doing great. They’re settling in. And I couldn’t— I mean… in my life, I never thought in a million years that I would have this couple days, and I’m very moved by the whole thing.”

Ruby came out publicly as trans in 2021, and Curtis has shown unwavering support ever since, speaking of her frequently and even having the opportunity to officiate her wedding last year.

“The right’s war on queer people, most specifically trans people, is both bizarre and abhorrent,” the Halloween star said on her Instagram earlier this month. “There is no debate to argue here. Trans people have been here forever and aren’t going anywhere. There is no ideology here. It’s simple. Trans rights are human rights. Anything stating the contrary is wrong.”
