Sounds like he was on the same page as the rest of us in the '90s and '00s.

Jacob Elordi, a prominent star in Hollywood, recently opened up about his first childhood crushes during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The 26-year-old Australian actor candidly admitted that his earliest celebrity crush was none other than Brad Pitt.

When asked by Fallon about his initial celebrity crush, Elordi unreservedly confessed, "Brad Pitt. I think in the [2004 drama] Troy. That’s a beautiful man. There’s no denying it."

This is not the first time Elordi has shared his admiration for a male celebrity. In a 2021 interview with W Magazine, he had already revealed his enchantment with Orlando Bloom, specifically the character Legolas from The Lord of the Rings. He expressed, "I was like, ‘Wow, this guy is perfect.’ He was so pure and fine."

Elordi's journey in the entertainment industry has not been without challenges. He told GQ about experiencing homophobia during his school days, particularly when he embraced acting and portrayed a role in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Rather than succumbing to prejudice, however, he embraced his passion and willingness to portray diverse characters, even those with perceived "femininity." He faced adversity with resilience, stating, "I was like, well, if you think this is gay, I’m going to be who I am when I was your friend, which is this hetero guy, but I’m going to play the arts."

Elordi's current project, Priscilla, features him in the role of Elvis Presley. While this role portrays a heterosexual character, Elordi is perhaps best known for his portrayal of the complex and abusive jock Nate Jacobs from Euphoria. Although there have been hints suggesting Nate's queerness in the show, Elordi has clarified that he has not approached Nate's character in terms of sexuality.

Elordi's upcoming project, the thriller film Saltburn, directed by Emerald Fennell, has been confirmed to have queer themes. At the BFI London Film Festival, Fennell told PinkNews that the film revolves around desire in all its forms, and queerness is an integral part of its narrative.
