On Wednesday, June 21, Bros heartthrob Luke Macfarlane announced the birth of his first daughter, Tess Eleanor Macfarlane, along with partner Hig Roberts.

As seen in the Instagram announcement, Tess was born on June 4, 2023. “We started life with some hectic days and received world-class care,” Macfarlane wrote in the caption. “On Father’s Day, we got to take her home. Her dads can’t wait to introduce her to all the remarkable people and the beautiful world we live in.”

The actor’s post included pictures and videos of Macfarlane and Roberts caring for their adorable little baby. But given that Macfarlane has always kept a low personal profile, this was the first time that many fans even heard that he had a partner and that they were considering starting a family.

Little is known about the timeline of when Macfarlane and Roberts started dating. It’s also unclear if they’re partners, fiancés, or husbands. Nonetheless, Roberts is best known for his career in sports.

Roberts is an alpine skier from Steamboat Springs, CO who was a part of the United States Ski Team between 2015 and 2019. Over the years, he competed at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics and won two giant slalom national titles.

After retiring from sports in 2019, Roberts embarked on a career in finance. And when it comes to his personal life, Roberts came out as gay in 2020.

“I didn’t know what gay was in terms of how that could exist in the spaces I loved and the spaces I found myself, which was sports,” he told Out in an interview. “I was not sure if what I was feeling was matching up with the way I was perceiving gayness at that time, which was obviously a wrong [depiction]. That’s a big reason for me speaking up as an athlete. As athletes, the visibility for LGBTQ+ people has been very quiet. There hasn’t been a lot of representation in the space, especially in alpine skiing, a very masculine, aggressive, strength-based sport.”

As of 2023, Roberts is 32 years old and works as a sports agent for the Wasserman Media Group, as indicated in his Instagram bio.
