The Rock is coming back to the world of ‘Moana’!

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has come a long way since being a pro wrestler in the WWE.

Since his breakout role as the Scorpion King in The Mummy Returns, Johnson has starred in big-budget productions that include The Fast & Furious movies, San Andreas, Tooth Fairy, the Jumanji reboot, 2017’s Baywatch, Jungle Cruise, and DC Comics’ Black Adam. He has also voiced characters in animated features such as Moana and DC League of Super-Pets. Overall, Johnson’s movies have collectively grossed over $12 billion at the box office around the world (via BoxOfficeMojo).

On Monday, April 3, Disney announced that it is making a live-action remake of Moana, which will include Johnson reprising his role as Maui. Johnson is also attached to the live-action film as a producer, so he’ll be even more involved in this upcoming project.

It’s still early to know a lot of details regarding the live-action Moana. But, needless to say, we’re already super excited about this new movie!
