The age-old debate about whether queer women actually love scissoring or whether it’s an invention of the adult film industry was just settled once and for all by bisexual rapper Doechii.
The “What It Is” singer went viral on December 28 when she took to X (formerly Twitter) to post about her love of the infamous lesbian sex act. “I’m sorry but I like to scissor and idk I just can’t help liking it,” Doechii wrote in a post that has already racked up 5.2 million views at the time of publication.
The versatile lyricist first landed on people’s radar when her song “Lucky Blucky Fruitcake” went viral on TikTok, but now she’s well on her way to becoming a household name after the popularity of her 2024 album Alligator Bites Never Heal and picking four Grammy nominations for next year’s award show.
While this may be the first time Doechii has publicly spoken about her love of scissoring, everyone should have known the queer artist would be into it after she scissored Katy Perry on stage at the 2024 MTV VMAs.
The reactions to Doechii announcing her love of scissoring to the world will have you cracking up. From people saying they already knew to people joking that they thought “scissoring was fake” to quips about “arts & crafts,” the comment section of her post is hilarious.
