Reese Witherspoon and ex-husband Ryan Phillippe’s son won the genetic lottery and it shows!
The eldest son of the ‘90s "it couple," Deacon Reese Phillippe is fast on his way to creating a name for himself. The 19-year-old up-and-comer—who turns 20 later this month—has appeared as Parker in two episodes of the Netflix series Never Have I Ever and is beginning to find success in the music industry.
He’s already released a handful of singles like “TALK,” “Long Run,” and “Kill My High” and his album A New Earth was dropped in April.
But what has really caught people’s attention lately was his photoshoot with King Kong Magazine where he’s featured on the cover of the American issue wearing nothing but a fur coat and a gold cross necklace. Another image from the shoot is a close-up of his mouth while he holds the bejeweled cross between his teeth and another shows him reclining on a couch wearing only the coat.
In the caption of the photo carousel on Instagram, the magazine wrote, “There’s a hint of danger in our shoot of actor, singer, songwriter Deacon Phillippe. And that’s the way it should be in the year he turns 20. A new decade deserves a reboot. Ditch the teenage angst, and repurpose that energy with a knowing sensuality.”
The magazine also pointed out that Phillippe is not only finding success but has acknowledged his nepo-baby status. “Having had real success with both his music and acting, there’s plenty of time to deepen and expand what he’s already doing, or to forge something new,” the caption reads. “There’s a refreshing openness about acknowledging his cinematic heritage.”
Many people took to the comments because they were stunned by his sexy poses. “Omg were not ready for this, too early,” one person wrote, while another commented, “How can you lose with those genetics,” and someone else called him a “Mini Austin butler.”
While most fans were singing his praises in the comments, there were others who were dragging the popstar in the making for wearing fur. One person wrote, ““he fur is the focus and tragic. Ruins the photo.” And another person comments, “Sure hoping that’s not real fur…”
Fur debate aside, with such iconic—and crushable—parents we can’t wait to see what trajectory Phillipe’s career takes!
