“That is my experience when I hooked up with men. That’s how I knew I was gay,” Chappell Roan said on the Las Culturistas podcast.

After releasing the ultimate service top anthem, “The Giver,” Chappell Roan is speaking candidly about why sleeping with men was such a disappointment.

On the newest episode of the Las Culturistas podcast, Roan told hosts Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers that her newest single is about her own preferences in the bedroom.

“For me, I give you pleasure, and that gives me pleasure,” she said.

“The reason I say this is a huge reset for people, the way people talk about sex in this day and age, is that it has been so divorced from pleasure,” Yang chimed in.

“That is my experience when I hooked up with men. That’s how I knew I was gay,” the 27-year-old pop star admitted.

Rogers then asked, “Because you never felt like it was about you or for you?”

“No, it just felt so performative,” she revealed. “To me when I’m like, okay, service top is that you want to do service even if you don’t want to. I don’t know, like I just want to do what my partner — makes them feel good. And when I make them feel good, that makes me feel good.”

Yang jokes that the term “service top” is superfluous because everyone should want to give their partner pleasure. “Are we saying the term ‘service top’ is a little bit — it feels like it’s a given thing. It’s like saying, ‘Well, I’m a sensory bottom.’ It’s like, of course you are.”

Roan quipped, “Yeah, if you have something in your ass, you’re going to feel that.”

“'I’m best when I bottom and I can feel it.’ Well, yeah, what are you talking about?” Yang said, agreeing with Roan’s assessment.

The "My Kink is Karma" singer also went on the Call Her Daddy podcast recently, where she opened up about why she loves hooking up with women so much more than her past experiences with men who weren’t concerned with her pleasure.

"But when I started hooking up with women, I was like, 'Fuck you guys.' This is enjoyable, first of all. Second of all: [It's] way, way easier. It's actually fucking crazy. So what, you can't find the clit? Work harder. It may take 10 minutes longer. That's fine," she told Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper.
