The Titanic sub tragedy has truly become a game of mad libs.

The saga of the missing tourist sub that lost contact while traveling down to the wreckage of the Titanic has dominated the news cycle, and now Cardi B has entered the chat.

Authorities have been searching for the OceanGate sub and its five passengers since it went missing over the weekend. The identities of those inside were not initially revealed, but Brian Szasz mentioned on social media that his stepfather, Hamish Harding, was among them.

And then he posted that he was going to a Blink-182 concert.

“It might be distasteful being here but my family would want me to be at the blink-182 show as it’s my favorite band and music helps me in difficult times,” he wrote, later tweeting directly at band members about the situation.

This led to a whole slew of reactions on Twitter, with even Cardi B weighing in on the situation.

“People is like, ‘Um well like, what is he supposed to do, be sad at the house? Is he supposed to go look for him himself?’ Yes. You supposed to be at the house, sad. You supposed to be crying for me. You supposed to be right next to the phone waiting to hear any updates about me. You supposed to be consoling your mom and shit,” she said in a video.

“Isn’t it sad that you a whole fucking billionaire and nobody gives a fuck about you? Like, you missing, and motherf**kers is ready to shake dicks at concert. That’s crazy.”

The video prompted a clapback from Szasz, who accused Cardi B of being a clout chaser, demanding she “get some class.”

“We know all your latest releases are trash but is your career this desperate for attention now??” he wrote, amidst thirsty tweets to OnlyFans models.

Cardi also fired back, pointing out that her issue in the first place was that Szasz seemed to be using the tragedy for attention while time and resources were devoted to finding those missing.

“This is why people hate you spoiled brat billionaires yall soo desensitized,” she replied.

This whole time, the internet has been locked in debate over whether it was appropriate to make jokes about the sub, largely because the idea of dropping a quarter million dollars each to float down to the Titanic and peer out a tiny window just for fun is so out of touch with reality that it’s difficult to grasp, or whether only solemnity is acceptable to show empathy for the missing and their families.

But Szasz has essentially blown that debate out of the water at this point, pushing things to the point of such absurdity that people have found it impossible not to make jokes in return.

The short-lived feud between Szasz and Cardi B appeared to come to a close after he then used the n-word in response to one of her defenders and subsequently deleted his Twitter.
