Pop icon Britney Spears has publicly responded to a "traumatic experience" she had with NBA star Victor Wembanyama.

This particular incident occurred outside the CATCH seafood restaurant in Las Vegas, where Spears was allegedly assaulted by a member of Wembanyama's security team. While the Las Vegas Police Department has confirmed an ongoing battery investigation, no arrests or citations have been made at this time.

Spears shared her side of the story, expressing her shock and disappointment. In an Instagram post, she said, "I recognized an athlete in my hotel lobby as I was heading to dinner. I later went to a restaurant at a different hotel and saw him again. I decided to approach him and congratulate him on his success."

Refuting Wembanyama's claims that she “grabbed him from behind,” she clarified, "I tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention. His security then backhanded me in the face without looking back, in front of a crowd. Nearly knocking me down and causing my glasses to fall off."

Expressing her concern about the prevalence of physical violence, Spears emphasized the importance of treating all individuals with respect. “Physical violence is happening too much in this world,” she said. “Often behind closed doors. I stand with all the victims and my heart goes out to all of you!"

She also expressed her disappointment at the lack of an apology from Wembanyama or his team, stating, "I also don’t appreciate nor do I think this is a laughing matter... Watching the player smile and laugh was cruel and demoralizing with the situation that took place."

Spears’s husband, Sam Asghari, echoed her sentiments, hoping that the responsible party would learn from the incident and change their behavior towards women. In an Instagram story of his own, he said, "I hope the man in question learns a lesson and changes his disregard for women."
