Bretman Rock Clarifies That He Goes By 'All The Pronouns'

Recently, Rock has been doing promo for his new memoir, You’re That Bitch & Other Cute Lessons About Being Unapologetically Yourself, which details his rise to stardom on Vine, his frustrations with the beauty influencer industry, and his relationship with gender and sexuality.

Rock has frequently bucked gender norms on social media and through their general aesthetic, and had previously spoken briefly about nonbinary identities with Demi Lovato in 2021, saying that they feel they have “two souls” made up of both a masculine and a feminine side.

To Sang, he elaborated on that a bit further, explaining that, in his language (Rock also speaks Ilocano), “we don’t really have a ‘he’ or ‘she.’”

“So I feel like, in a way, I’ve always been nonbinary, and even down to, when I was a kid, my grandma would always introduce me to all her friends, and call me like, this is my handsome and beautiful grandson,” they said. “So she would always like, associate me with both feminine and masculine words. So I feel like I’ve always been nonbinary, to be honest.”
