Austin Butler made waves in 2022 for playing the King of Rock and Roll in the Baz Luhrmann-directed Elvis biopic. Now, Jacob Elordi has been cast to play Elvis Presley in the upcoming A24 film Priscilla, which will be directed by Sofia Coppola.

At 31 years old, Butler has had a long career in Hollywood working his way through several different TV series and movies. The actor started his career making cameos on Disney and Nickelodeon shows like Hannah Montana, iCarly, Zoey 101, Jonas, and Wizards of Waverly Place. However, it wasn’t until 2011’s Switched at Birth that Butler landed a recurring role as James “Wilkie” Wilkerson. He then starred as main characters on shows such as The Carrie Diaries (Sebastian Kydd) and The Shannara Chronicles (Wil Ohmsford). Prior to Elvis, Butler was seen on the big screen in films like The Dead Don’t Die and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. He is currently slated to appear in Dune: Part Two in 2023.

Elordi became a household name for starring in The Kissing Booth trilogy of films on Netflix. In all three installments, he played the heartthrob Noah Flynn. In between his commitments to that franchise, Elordi also filmed movies like Swinging Safari, The Mortuary Collection, and 2 Hearts. The actor also landed his breakout role as Nate Jacobs on HBO’s Euphoria, which propelled his career to new heights. Elordi is expected to appear in the third season of Euphoria, but he’s also been cast to play Elvis Presley in the upcoming Priscilla film.
