Ali Krieger claps back on Ashlyn Harris' 'distortion of the truth' regarding their divorce
“In this vulnerable time, I humbly ask for privacy and understanding from all involved," she wrote on Instagram.
Former soccer star Ali Krieger has a few thoughts on her bitter divorce from ex-wife Ashlyn Harris, particularly around what she describes as the “dishonesty and misinformation” surrounding their marriage.
The two initially met when they played together for the US National Team in 2010, then married in 2019 and had two children before calling it quits in September 2023.
A couple of weeks ago, Harris did an interview on the Naked Sports podcast with Cari Champion, where she aired out her side of the story and detailed the lack of intimacy between the two, the discussions for an open relationship, and those pesky cheating rumors that don’t seem to leave her alone.
Following the chatter Harris’s interview caused, Krieger wound up taking to her Instagram to express her gratitude for the “outpouring of love and support” she’s received, but also to confront what she considers a “distortion of the truth.”
Although she said she wasn’t ready to make a formal statement yet, she said, “Above all else, my unwavering priority remains on the protection and well-being of my children. I promise to share more when my heart feels ready.”
She continued, “In this vulnerable time, I humbly ask for privacy and understanding from all involved, as I may grapple with the profound changes in my personal life.”
One of the top comments on the post came from Krieger’s brother, Kyle, who responded, “Love you punkin. Even though you’ve said very little — everyone knows the truth. That is a testament to your character and very telling of others. No matter how many lies someone may tell or pr campaigns are planted — we all know you love your children, and we all know you are an honest, loving, beautiful human being. Be free and soar. The best is yet to come. We got you.”
We hate to see love crumble like this, and we wish them both the best as they try to navigate this trying time.
