Harassment in Womens Basketball?

Administrators at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis launched a full investigation into the alleged "emotional abuse" and harassment of players on their women's basketball team by coaching staff. Among other complaints, players say they were inappropriately asked about their sexual orientation on a consistent basis, and lectured for dating other members of the team.

IUPUI has a discrimination policy which protects students who are targeted for their sexual orientation.

The basketball program lost 28 players and assistant coaches prematurely within four seasons, according to The Indiana Star. Nineteen of those players had scholarships.

Gay rights groups such as Indiana Equality are following the story, and have contacted the school encouraging a serious investigation.

The three-person panel who will investigate the alleged harassment will include the school's athletic director, a former judge, and a dean from the IUPUI law school.
