Facebook Removes Anti-Gay Facebook Page

The New Anti-Gay Movement Facebook page was the latest form of homophobia to go viral. "Those of us who are tired of seeing them flaunt it like it is a badge of honor and acceptable. Spread it like wildfire. Suggest to all your friends," the administrator wrote.

The New Anti-Gay Movement Facebook page was the latest form of discrimination to go viral. Facebook, the social network cite used by other groups to unite people of common interests and beliefs, removed the page early Thursday morning, according to comments posted on PinkNews.

“This page is for those of us against ALL gays, man and woman alike," the page administrator wrote. "Those of us who are tired of seeing them flaunt it like it is a badge of honor and acceptable. Spread it like wildfire. Suggest to all your friends.”

Naturally, many were apalled by the page and voiced their opinions. In response to the condemning comments, the page administrator utilized the 1st Amendment to defend his/her cause.

“And go ahead and report this page all you want," the little naive son-of-a-gun states. "It attacks nobody directly and is in complete compliance with my rights as a citizen of [the] USA.”

The user also states: “By definition this page does not in any way or form count as ‘hate speech’. While there is a very thin line, this is on the proper side of it. It does not promote violence, intimidation, harassment or other misconducted [sic] actions. It exists solely as a point of view to be shared by others that share the same ideal. Our right to voice our feelings towards gays is no more in the wrong than your option to voice an opinion FOR it.”

WRONG, small fry!

Facebook's Terms of Service clearly state “You will not post content that: is hateful, threatening, or pornographic; incites violence; or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence.”

Thanks, Facebook, for realizing hate speech is ever evolving and doesn't need "fag" or "dyke" attached. Would you relay that message to the politicians of California so I can get married? That'd be great.
