The Trailer For The Queer Horror Film Knock At The Cabin Is Here & It’s Terrifying
Don’t open that door.
The apocalypse comes knocking in the first trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s new queer horror film, Knock at the Cabin.
The film is based on Paul Tremblay’s terrifying novel The Cabin at the End of the World. It follows a young girl and her fathers who are “taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost,” according to the official synopsis
In the trailer, we see the family — Andrew (Jonathan Groff), Eric (Ben Aldridge), and their daughter Wen (Kristen Cui) — head off on a remote vacation at a cabin in the woods. They settle in, sing songs, jump into the lake, and connect in the bucolic, peaceful setting. Their idyllic getaway is shattered, however, when a man (Dave Bautista) who introduces himself as Leonard nightmarishly emerges from the woods. He then ominously explains his heart is broken, because of what he is about to do.
And Leonard is not alone. He is followed by three armed companions (Nikki Amuka-Bird, Abby Quinn, and Rupert Grint) intent on entering the cabin, by force if necessary. They’ve come to make the family make a horrifying choice — or else, they warn, the world will end.
The movie is produced by Blinding Edge Pictures production, in association with FilmNation Features and Wishmore Entertainment. The screenplay is by M. Night Shyamalan, Steve Desmond, and Michael Sherman based on Tremblay’s book.
