Even if you don't already know that you're familiar with the work of Clea DuVall, you definitely are. Aside from having starring and guest-starring roles on nearly every TV show ever including but in no way limited to Heroes, Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, Bones, ER, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, CSI, CSI: Miami, the general public may recognize her as a co-star in the Academy Award-winning film Argo. However, we know and love her as the star of queer cult classic film But I'm A Cheerleader. She's also played gay on American Horror Story: Aslyum and HBO's Carnivale, had a cameo in Itty Bitty Titty Committee, and one could assume played gay again in short called "Lez Chat" that also has the best cast ever. She also had a fairly invasive run-in with the paparazzi in 2013 when photos of her kissing a woman went semi-viral. Can you say scandalous?! We're sure you can, but definitely not about this situation, which should have just been a very normal day for these two women that was treated with privacy and respect.
Well, now we're about to be blessed with even more of Clea DuVall's presence in a big way, because according to Variety she'll be making her directorial debut in a film she's also written and will be starring in. Now, we know really nothing about the content of the actual film, but we do know its cast is AMAZING. It's slated to star Cobie Smulders, Melanie Lynskey, Natasha Lyonne, and Alia Shawkat, because sometimes casting starts align in beautiful ways. Although we've pretty much given up hope that Natasha's presence (and Lynskey's) in the cast means this will be a But I'm A Cheerleader sequel (But I'm Still A Cheerleader, perhaps?) we can't wait for whatever it is. And at least until we have more info, we can pass the time by turning on our TVs and watching reruns of endless shows that are probably guest-starring Clea at any given moment.
