Kristen Wiig Is "Bummed" About the Ghostbusters Misogynistic Backlash
Kristen Wiig told the Los Angeles Times she's "bummed" about the people who criticize the latest remake of Ghostbusters because it features an all-female cast. The new Ghostbusters cast features out lesbian Kate McKinnon (who plays an awesome Hillary Clinton on SNL), Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, and Leslie Jones.
Some criticized the film saying that the cast was not honoring fans, and "going against your fan base." While others said that it shouldn't be about "filling quotas" or jumping on any trends, but instead because Hollywood already lacks representation of women in film.
So why not have an all-female cast? Do we even have to call it an "all-female" cast? We never do that for movies with an "all-male" cast.
What do you think about Wiig's reaction to the sexist backlash towards Ghostbusters?
