Last weekend, Amber Rose had her first inaugural SlutWalk in Los Angeles, and hundreds of people walked to raise awareness against slut shaming. The SlutWalk originally started four years ago in Toronto, when a police officer said that “women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized." Since then, there's been SlutWalks all over the country.
Rose had a fashion show, a performance by American Idol star, Frenchie Davis, and hosted a panel about feminism and equality for women. Many celebrities attended, but the crowd made some important contributions and sent their own messages to people who slut shame.
The Amber Rose Foundation provided signs for women to carry, but many hand-made their own for the event.
