Moments after witnessing Rosalía bless the Coachella audience, I quipped to my friends, "I'm bisexual this weekend."
"Congrats!" yelled a stranger walking by.
Whether you're gay, bi, or a good ol' fashioned heterosexual, it's hard not to be a little pan when there's so much beauty, talent, and electric energy in the air. Every April, the massive music festival attracts queers from around the world, guests and performers alike, to the desert for once in the life performances – and this year was no different.
Here are a few of our favorite LGBT moments from Coachella Weekend 2.
MUNA decreed the event "dykechella," so the festival has officially been renamed.
Kali Uchis yelled gay rights at the crowd.
Ethel Cain made the girls, gays, and theys ugly cry with her stirring Americana ballads.
Charli XCX performed "Boys" for all her "gay boys."
Kaytranada brought out Tinashe, H.E.R., and Anderson Paak to sing live over an incredible DJ set.
SG Lewis introduced Tove Lo to the crowd to perform "Call On Me."
Christine and the Queens shared the story of his transition with an unearthly performance in the Mojave tent.
BLACKPINK had a massive crowd of teenage girls and shirtless muscular men alike precisely performing the choreo to "DDU-DU DDU-DU".
Zendaya made a surprise appearance during Labrinth's absolutely packed set to perform their collab from HBO Max's Euphoria, "All For Us".
And Calvin Harris blasted Rihanna's gay anthem "We Found Love" to a jubilant crowd of thousands.
Could it have been gayer? Well, yes. Troye Sivan was spotted wandering around festival grounds but mysteriously didn't perform "1999" with XCX on stage like he did Weekend 1. And Frank Ocean's absence was sorely missed from the mourning crowd after he dropped out of the festival earlier this week, many fans even wearing his merch as a sign of grief.
We'd give it a 6.5/10 gay stars! Maybe try harder next year, Coachella.
