WATCH: Rosie O'Donnell Says She Quit The View to Alleviate Stress
Rosie video blogs about her sudden departure.
The View cohost Rosie O’Donnell inadvertently dropped two bombs in one day last Friday when it was revealed that she and her wife had parted several months ago, and that she was leaving the daytime talk show prematurely for a second time.
Rosie appeared on the show Monday, just a few days after the news broke, and while she spoke at length about her HBO special, A Heartfelt Stand-Up -- out on Valentine’s Day-- she failed to mention the elephant in the room, which is the fact that Thursday will be her last appearance on the show.
The online universe then demanded to know why Rosie refused to discuss her leaving, so she made a short video blog to explain herself.
“The truth is, I had a heart attack two years ago, and stress is very bad for heart attack survivors,” Rosie said in her video blog. “I’m minimizing my stress by leaving The View.”
She went on to say,“Marriage is complicated and I’ve got five kids, four of them are teenagers, and there’s lots of stuff going home and there’s lots of stuff going on at work, and the only thing I can really control is the work – by leaving.”
Here is Rosie in her own words.
