It’s all about love and hate for Vanjie in this clip.

Season three of Canada’s Drag Raceis in full swing, and this week’s episode features a reunion of one of our fave Ru-Girl duos: Brooke Lynn Hytes and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo. It happened when the latter stopped by to serve as an extra special guest judge — and to remind us that the two totally hooked up.

In a clip shared by Entertainment Weekly, Brooke Lynn begins offering advice to the contestants about lip-syncing in pairs and says she needs a little help. “Since we’re in pairs, I need my Ruette-partner of choice forever,” she says. “So, please help me welcome to the stage: Vanessa Vanjie Mateo!”

Vanjie enters from stage right to the screams and cheers of the contestants who can’t believe she’s there.

In typical Vanjie fashion, she makes an entrance with a whole lot of attitude. “That’s an ex-partner! Ex-partner, bitch!” she jokes.

Brooke Lynn then asks if Vanjie can give the contestants some advice for lip-syncing alongside one of her sisters — and Vanjie has some very Vanjie suggestions. “I know f*cking your partner can help. Can we say that?” she begins, adding, “If not a lot of chemistry, a lot of hate. That can help, too.”

Not to read too much into Vanjie’s statements, but we call shade. The two famously sparked a romance while filming RuPaul’s Drag Race season 11; sadly it was a short-lived one, as they shared that they’d gone their separate ways by the time the reunion was shot.

Back to the clip, Brooke Lynn finishes by giving the girls some real advice. “You have to build to something, you know, and end on a bang!” to which Vanjie quips, “We love a bang.” We stan a relatable queen.
